Deep dark coloured body with a very thin off-white head. Aroma of roasted malt and a bit of sweetness with not much else. Light -bodied; Sweet flavours up front with pit fruits and a good dose of malt and yeast follow behind. Aftertaste shows more of the same, not much malt and even less sweetness. Overall, a fairly bland and tasteless double, with less-than-desireable flavours. I sampled this 33 cL bottle purchased from Joe’s Place in Oklahoma City (Norman), Oklahoma on 07-October-2007.

Dark brown with medium head. Sweet malty aroma with plums. Again very sweet flavor that lacks complexity.

Now one of my favourites - malty flavor is accented by a sweet, smooth aftertaste. Creamy and malty - great body - not bitter - tastes great straight from bottle also

Dark brown body with decent tan head. Nose and flavor of dark fruit, and a little chocolate. Simply delicious.

11.2 oz bottle into a goblet. Has a fantastic aroma of communion wine, ripe grapes and figs. The taste has a similar dark and ripe fruity taste with a touch too much sweetness. Thankfully it finishes a bit dryer with some complex notes of roasted grains, caramel and soft yeast.

bottle. average to small tan head (mostly dissapated) into dark brown body. Aromas of brown sugar, ripe dark fruit, goes along with the brown sugar but there is a tootie rollness in there. light body with watery texture, but duration lasted longer than expected. not bad dubbel.

bottle poured into Grimbergen glass in Paris. Darker orange and gold colour with a medium head that quickly disappears. Nice sweetness in the taste. Good, but not great dubbel.

Appley amber color with quickly fading white head. Tart aroma with a bit of caramel, apples, spices, and a hint of booze. Taste is same, but weakly so, and only minimally carbonated. $3/11.2oz
