A short-lived tan head falls quickly, leaving some decent lacing. Very nice malt and sweet alcohol aroma. Plum, raisin and toffee flavors, along with some considerable alcohol warmth. Finishes with plenty of residual sweetness and some interesting fruity esters. Not the best Dubbel in the world, but a very nice addition to the weak NH bottle selection. ucusty (1915), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Aug 10, 2007 Bottled, filtered, 330ml at A ge Pannes, Schin op Geul, NL Limburg. Dark brown with cream head. Another I thought I had rated in the past, thank god for a PDA and a beer list. Sugary sweet dubbel without too much to overcome the sweetness. There is some malty fruitiness if you try and a touch of deep roasted malt, but I am beggining to struggle with the Belgian taste for sweetness. acearl (218), J-Town, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 8, 2007 Bottle. Dark chesnut cola-ish colour murky body. Small loose tan head. Strong lacing on the glass. Sweet orange-peel candy, malty flavours. Citrus zest. Sweet candy finish into malt. Great desert beer, maybe a bit too sugary. Braudog (3778), Dayton, Ohio, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 5, 2007 Bottle: Poured pitch black with a thin off-white head. The aroma is almost one of black cherries. Similarly the flavor is deep and rich but with a dark fruity riptide of pull, with a cloying dry body. Delicious on a thunderstormy evening.
