| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 2, 2009 This is a typical dark brown dubbel style beer with a decent beige head and a chocolate cherry aroma. The flavor is funky plum and toffee. I seem to remember this being a better beer in the pre-Heineken days. abemorsten (181), Randaberg, Norway

Smells sweetly of sherry and faintly of cherries. Tastes fresh plums and prunes. Sweet and sour. Caramel. Quite abrubt finish. Decent. thebusstop (21), New York, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 25, 2009 Pretty ruby color with nice off-white head. Aroma is sweet buttery vanilla, but not overwhelming, a nice balance. Flavor and palate not as exciting. A bit too fizzy for an abbey ale and that fizz tends to overwhelm the flavor. Flavor is a bit flat after fizz is gone. eManu (211), Brussels, Belgium

Aroma of roasted malts and caramels and some fruits. Flavors of roasted malts, caramel, a hint of cacao. Some dry fruits like raisains and a hint of nuts, with a dry oaked finish. Very nice ballance of flavors, very enjoyable. illinismitty (1801), Nashville, Tennessee, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 19, 2009 Sampled at YourDarklord’s tasting. Pours red amber with a retentive tan head. Berry like fruity aroma. Medium. Flavor is pretty much focused on sweet malts, in a fruit candy sort of way. One dimensional, but it works. SeanMacGC (255), Dublin, Ireland
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 9, 2009 Bottle, 33cl. Pours appealing dark brown with russet hue, with a decent head that endured. Rounded aroma of mature fruit with yeast and malt undertones on the nose, and similar on the palate with more eveident sweetness. Medium mouthfeel, and a decent double overall. michael-pollack (2739), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA
