| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | May 23, 2007 Bottle into Tulip glass: Aroma is full of beautifull dark fruits but ends a little candy sweet, clear dark ruby color when held up to the light, thin head but nice lacing, mouthfeel was a bit dryer than expected perhaps from high carbonation, but all in all a pretty nicely made beer cking (1041), North Canton, Ohio, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 22, 2007 Rated 8/15/06: Nice dark amber brown color with a good thick tan head and lots of lacing. Aroma is medium with hints of dark fruits, chocolate, and some roasted sweetness. Mouthfeel is decent, but the flavor is a little off. Sweet and somewhat fruity it’s nice at first but there is a strange metallic like aftertaste that really puts this one off. Decent but I’m not very impressed. berkshirejohn (1831), Bracknell, Berkshire, England
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 22, 2007 33cl bottle from Tescos. Chestnut with a cream head; sour, roasted malt aroma; smooth and sweet, with chocolate and caramel; then a very dry, warming finish with a raisin edge. Gethinbeer (1006), Nova Scotia, Canada
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 20, 2007 Rich fruity bitter with a slight caramel aroma. Deep amber with an off white head. Very nice smooth rich flavour of caramel and hops. Fresh bitter finish. Very nice beer. TheBeerBaron (219), Florida, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 16/20 | May 19, 2007 Bottle. Dark crimson color, foamy tan head and a tornado-like stream of bubbles coming up the center of the tulip glass. An awesome overall appearance. Deep fruit aroma of plums and bannana mixed with malt overtones. The pallate is overly bubbly, detracting from the overall score. Sweet and fruity plus the fizz takes away any reminder of a high alcohol content. The double malt is evident but a little more emphasis on neutralizing hops would have helped. A fine beer, but doesn’t rise up to the top of the amazing ranks of other belgium legends. tenghave (402), Taastrup, Denmark
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 15, 2007 Belgisk Ale.
Rødbrun øl med ingen vedvarende skum.
Duften er af belgisk gær og af karamel. Ikke særlig kraftig duft.
Smagen er krydret - nærmest som en juleøl. Belgisk gær anes. Dog ikke særlig dominerende. Anelese brændt i smagen.
Ikke særlig fyldig, men heller ikke så høj alcohol.
Generelt en god Ale LinusStick (1848), Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 15/20 | May 11, 2007 An average dubbel. Dubbels are either mind blowing or very average. This falls in the very average category. Dark brown pour with a 2 finger off white head with no lacing. Aroma of yeast. Tasted like stale Coke with malt in it. Thinner mouthfeel and as much carbonation as I am used to. No dark fruit or yeast that I look for.
