| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 25, 2007 Small offwhite head quickly disappears. Deep dark red body, barely translucent. Acidic vinuous aroma with notes of wild berries and marzipan, and faint metallic notes in the background. Taste is roasty wild berries and marzipan with yeasty notes. Dry, thin metallic aftertaste with hop notes. Very nice. Harmonic and subtle, yet quite strong-tasting. (0.33l bottle.) hoplover406 (204), Crofton, Maryland, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 24, 2007 Bottle. Pours a deep dark mahogany with small head filled with different size bubbles. Strong aroma of grapes, prunes and dates?! Taste is very similar with little malt character. Very thin and watery. Bland, did not enjoy or finish. JonR888710 (999), Cochabamba, Bolivia
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 24, 2007 Pours a dark brown, though when held to light it is a much more obvious deep red. Head is largely bubbled, uneven, and toasted white bread color. Smells of cookie dough, sweet and bready, along with some fruit malt, banana and plum. Taste is a tad oily. Shows lots of dark pit fruit, especially figs, plum, banana, cherries and chocolate. Really a lucious malt palate, and after having just drank a triple, certainly much welcome. This is a refined malt palate indeed! Great for sipping. After is a bit bloody, copper pennies if you will, with a slight metallic hop bite.Good beer. Purchased 11.2 oz bottle at Chevy Chase Wine & Spirits in Washington, DC (unlike the only other Grimbergen I had at a cafe in Paris!) M0RHI (1067), Luxembourg, Luxembourg

Nose is fruity, some banana, sticky toffee pudding nose (2nd beer of the night that reminded me of that!). Malts, lasting through to the mouth, with a touch of alcohol. Dark fruit in the palate, some unpleasant sourness. All in all, quite good. Frauditor (148), Hagerstown, Maryland, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 16, 2007 Dark brown with a decent head. Very sweet, fruity with caramel and toastiness. A hard beer to sum up... nicely complex with very pleasant flavours... but is less than the sum of its collected parts. Still a good beer though
