Fruity nose with dried plums and lemon. Sweet and medium bodied with lots of perfumy soap and an unusual estery apricot flavour. Some soothing caramel mixes with dextrose. Drying finish with low bitterness. Despite all flavour it feels mild. Complex, but with some drawbacks. Svesse (2650), Hässelby, Sweden

Fruity, yeasty nose with dried fruit, prunes and caramel. Malty, fruity taste with sweet notes of cherries, dried fruit and blood oranges turning into a malty finish with nuts, chocolate and toffee. On the sweet side, with distinct macro character (i.e. hardly no unique character at all), but still rather tasty. NotWthoutStout (30), Wharton, New Jersey, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 9, 2007 Bottle - Poured a beautiful dark mahagany/deep copper hue with a huge frothy head that lasted quite a while. The appearance really got my hopes up, The mouthfeel is nice at first smooth with good body like you would expect from a malty beer but then too much carbonation (and I pour my beer hard from high to get rid of the carbonation) . In the smoothness there is the carmel, some dark fruits but it all transits too fast into a very short finish that too quickly becomes yeasty, & astringent. Especially the carbonation kept hiding what I could tell should be a more complex flavour and I kept getting left with a bit of metalic after taste. I will revisit this one as it has high potential and may have just been an off batch. It drinks easy, maybe a little too easy as it goes down very fast - possibly in the search for the flavour I keep expecting from such a great looking beer. smcd (366), USA
