Although it tasted very rich and fll flat on the palate. I would drink this again but as an after dinner beverage or as a dessert beer.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 1/5 | 16/20 | Dec 3, 2009 Brown sugar and raisin aroma with slight dustiness. Clear mahohany, with a thick tan head, decent lacing. Flavor begins with marshmallow, and quickly turns to sweet and lightly tart malt, then a light grassy finish. Some candy sugar throughout. Good balance and transitions. Mouthfeel is too thin. Good example of the style. dkachur (2374), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA

| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Nov 12, 2009 Pours a deep ruby, clear, with a large beige head. Aroma is mildly yeasty, nutty, with a hint of caramel/toffee. Flavor has a lot of white cane sugar, bubble gum, cotton candy flavors. Strange artificial sweetness. Medium mouthfeel, average. The least likeable dubbel I’ve had in a while, perhaps ever. Overall, fair plus. daniele (1711), Italy

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 7, 2009 12 oz bottle. Pours a deep dark red with a creamy light tan froth. Aroma is very candied dark fruitiness. Some sweet nuts and other dark fruits, raisins and a bit of a sweetened red creme soda note. Flavor starts sweet and sugary. Some toffee and plum with other dark fruits. Stays very sweet and syrupy through the somewhat dry finish leaving almost no bitterness. Cloyingly sweet. Medium body and a soft carbonation. Love the style but this is not much of a representation. DYCSoccer17 (2192), Davis, California, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Nov 7, 2009 12 ounce bottle from the Davis Food Co-Op. Musty, estery, sweet, vinous aroma with some hints of raisin. Mostly transparent mahogany body with a slight off-white head. Starts sweet and sugary, which becomes a little vinous. Finishes with an incredibly nutty flavor. Walnuts and almonds primarily. Pretty straight-forward and kind of boring. Meh.
