My recommendation is to pour it into a room-temperature glass. Truly the finest beer to taste BETTER as it grows warmer in the glass! The only thing keeping this from being the perfect beer is my belief that such a thing does not yet exist. Poured an attractive dark amber with just a little bit of head. The flavor combination of malt, caramel, and a hint of spice blended and progressed fantastically before leading to a mellow finish and overall sense of satisfaction. Definitely a beer to enjoy in smaller amounts/at a slower pace rather than in rounds at a bar. dwyerpg (2553), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

I think this may have strawberry or raspberry hints, but this is truly one of my favorite doubles - top notch. shendrix (478), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA

A damn fine brew my lads. NeoHippie2 (177), Louisville, Kentucky, USA

Lots of roasted malts with hints of chocolate on the nose. Wonderful, roasted chocolate with a bit of a fruity character to it in the aftertaste. This was a great great beer, highly reccomended. Smells of cherries, fresh fruit, caramel, some hints of spice, earthy. Tastes fruity with a nice balance of sweet malt and an underlying tartness. Mouthfeel is slick. The finish on this is fruity. A touch of honey shows up as this warms. A great example of the style. sjengske99 (2), Mestreech, Netherlands does not count | 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Nov 5, 2001 johninmelb (695), Bristol, Gloucestershire, England

Looks great - Ruby mahogany in the glass with a strong creamy head. Taste is a great balance between freshly thirstquenching and the traditional abbey complexity. I like it a lot.
