Alldaydrinker (475), Norwood, Massachusetts, USA Nov 29, 2007 Poured into a trappist with a dark ruby brown colour and small creamy tan head. Nose is muted with only some dark fruits & sugars. Initial taste of candy grape, sweet malts that are then blanketed by toffee. Palate of toffee, cocoa and mild bitterness.Good Lacing of the glass and some head retention. Medium body and perfect carbonation.
Bontus (113), Gent, Belgium Nov 28, 2008 Bottle. Pours brown, amber brown. Sweet and malty thin bodied beer. Very small hints of fruits and unbalanced in my opinion.
Rciesla (1136), Brick City, New Jersey, USA Oct 23, 2008 Bottle from circle. Pours a brown amber body with a dark off white head. Sweet and malty, notes of chocolate, caramel, dark fruity, and spices. ZeidleBrew (8), , Connecticut, USA does not count Oct 22, 2008 First poured from a bottle at the Blue Pearl in New Haven, CT, then found at a local retail store. The only thing keeping this from being the perfect beer is my belief that such a thing does not yet exist. Poured an attractive dark amber with just a little bit of head. The flavor combination of malt, caramel, and a hint of spice blended and progressed fantastically before leading to a mellow finish and overall sense of satisfaction. Definitely a beer to enjoy in smaller amounts/at a slower pace rather than in rounds at a bar. scottw86 (130), New York, USA Oct 18, 2008 Poured a dark brown/copper with a light tan head. Sweet malts, caramel, brown sugar, and raisins in the taste. Not as thick as I was expecting. Aftertaste was very smooth. Overall very good. JonnyDr (128), , South Yorkshire, England Oct 16, 2008 Updated: Oct 25, 2008Very deep copper coloured beer with transient tan head. Cherry and date aroma. Sweet cherry start leads to stewed plums, gooseberries. Plum is dominant. Thin bodied but reasonable.
