Fin (2179), Merton, Oxfordshire, England Mar 5, 2008 Bottle at Waagstuk, Antwerp, Belgium, 02-03-08 Pours a shimmering gold with slight haze and quite huge head. Yeast spices and a lazy bitterness are the main features as is a tingly bitterness on the surface of the tongue, soft chewy fruitiness at the end, and really quite a nice beer.
sebletitje (258), Tampa, Florida, USA Aug 10, 2008 33cl bottle.
Blonde color with thick white head.
Aroma is sugary and fruity (banana).
Taste is hoppy with a nice fruity touch (banana and vanilla) some sweeet candi-sugar and malts.
Very fizzy, grainy with barley and wheat, some orange peel and spices (coriander).
Not the best Grimbergen ever.
Mes_and_Sim (4320), Highgate, Greater London, England Aug 4, 2008 A Sim rate (bottle at Ramsgate "Brewery"): Smells like your typical Belgian blonde. Tonnes of malt. Sweet and syrupy. Really nice lasting head. Very weak, sugary flavour. Very alcoholic. Almost off-putting. So Belgian, but nothing special. I traded the last half of this in for an Orval. Mmmm... KimJohansen (3171), Copenhagen V, Denmark Aug 3, 2008 Clear golden with huge white short lasting head. Sweet yeasty aroma with fruity and spicy notes. Yeasty flavor with coriander and floral notes. tarjei (1154), Bryne, Norway Jul 21, 2008 33 cl bottle, bought in shop in Oostende. Golden color, big white foamy head.
