Commercial Description:
This is a strong blonde beer, full of character with tertiary fermentation in the bottle yet still very accessible. Alc. 8% vol. Taste: The traditional Grimbergen recipe is enriched here trough the use of aromatic hops, which gives the beer its refined bitterness and hoppy character. The result is a refreshingly strong blonde beer.

Poured yellow with a big white foamy head and some lacing. Semi-sweet and a slight bitterness with herb spices. Somewhere between a Belgian Triple and s strong ale. Tasty beer.

Big creamy head, beer is light blond/gold. remaining for a long while in the glass. Aromas of herbs, ornage peels, fresh and hoppy. Full taste, spicey, slightly bitter, not so much carbon dioxide, although it’s fizzling in mouth. Complex beer, nice, tasteful.

Bottle. Hazy pale gold with lots of head. Bold aroma - fruity, some spice. Medium body and strong carbonation. Fruity spicey start giving way to a moderately bitter finish. Overall, impressive but a bit unsubtle.

Bright orange colour with light foamy head. Very light, clean and refreshing in the mouth. Dry, minerally flavour, a little metallic. Aftertaste becomes sweeter but the beer retains it’s clean, crisp character.

Bottle, bought @ brygshoppen.dk.
Pours clear, pale golden with a small, frothy, lightly off-white head. Aroma is lightly malty, some yeast with very weak caramel. High carbonation, okay mouthfeel. Flavour is softly malty, some yeast, lightly vinious. Simple and very elegant.

Bottle. Clear yellow gold with large white head. Malty citrus aroma. Flavour is yeasty, little spice, coriander, grass, hops. Mellow for a tripel. Middle of the road but pleasantly surprised for a Grimbergen.

Fluffy white head over fully clear golden beer. There is yeast, but one has to be extremely persistent to get it out. White candi sugar, vanilla, dry yeastcake, parsley or chervil, graindust or chaff. Quite malty in taste, and unmistakably the stamp of WCS - thethingthatIcannottasteaccordingtoeverybrewer. Strange, but not unpleasant flavour of mushroomskins, chestnut mushrooms. Yeast has all the bitterness in, so you need to pour it to the dregs. Every new sips starts out threatening to get very sweet, but gets drier and drier in the palate. Medium bodied at best, some alcohol apparent. Wheat plays peek-a-boo - then I seem to get it, then not. Again a Grimbergen that is not bad at all, in se. I was under the impression it had to be aimed at the Leffe 9, but in character it has more from the Leffe tripel, which is not a bad thing. It certainly shows a balance, albeit a precarious one.
