Fukito (604), Buenos Aires, Argentina Mar 30, 2007 Bottle, march 07, shared with Jbrus. Very strong, winey, alcoholic aroma with a nice toffee touch. Nice warming, fruity, red wine flavor and a dry, refreshing feeling. Medium MF, dry with a bit astringent ending. Very quaffable for a 10% brew. Color is a shinny burgundy with some red hues and a thin beige head. Very nice winter warmer. yespr (11613), Copenhagen O, Denmark Mar 16, 2007 33 cl bottle. Pours brown with little off white head. Aroma is malt and classical belgian yeast. Taste is malty, slight metallic and strong alcohol notes blended with fruity wineous notes hughie (3016), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England Mar 14, 2007 Very dark amber with a beige head. Sweet malty, spicy aroma rather like an alcoholic chocolate gateau: an absolutely wonderful introduction. Does any other beer have such a delectable aroma? The taste had to be a slight disappointment after that. It was almost cloyingly sweet with caramel, dark fruits and plums. The sharp bitterness nearly saved it. Jerre (1755), Waregem, Belgium Mar 11, 2007 Bottle, 33 cl. Taste yesterday again
(was long ago) at ’t Straetje zonder ende.
Dark brown with red tint, head was beige and creamy. Aroma: malts, fruits ?Sweet taste of spice and caramel,
a little bitter aftertaste.
Not so great beer, if you ask me.
cgarvieuk (4159), Edinburgh, Scotland Mar 7, 2007 brown in colour, with a light sour nose, lots of roast malt toffee sweetness and a roast bitter linger reakt (938), Greater London, England Feb 3, 2007 Updated: Sep 2, 2007Bottle from Uto. Blood orange in colour with thick malty off white head. Forget lacing - a practical fortress of malt envelopes the glass. Nose of walnuts, brown sugar, orange, oak, grass and spices. Taste to match with a punch of alcohol. Very similar to spiced rum. Long, sharp cheese finish with sweet top notes. Amazing stuff! faroeviking (6016), Republica Vikingo de las, Faroe Islands Jan 22, 2007 Bottle. Aroma is sweet fruity and malty. Sweet, malty, fruity, bit spicy and alcoholic flavor. Hoppy sweet finish. beerbuzzmontreal (2909), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Jan 12, 2007 The pour reveals a clear brown color with a thick, diminishing, offwhite head. Interesting aroma of raisins, dates with toasted malt, smells a lot like a fruit cake. Good flavor of raisins, dates and toasted malt with a sweet finish. The body has a light to medium thickness with a liquorous texture and moderate carbonation. An interesting beer, I think that Optimo Bruno has seen better days but it’s still an enjoyable beer.
