bu11zeye (5430), Frisco, Texas, USA Jan 1, 2007 (Bottle, BB 20-01-07) Pours a mahogany body with an average beige head. Aroma of raisins, dates, and caramel. Flavor of raisins, grape juice, and malt. oh6gdx (8801), Vasa, Finland Jan 1, 2007 Bottled. Dark ruby red colour, small beige head. Aroma is raisins, malts and yeast. Flavour caramel malts, alcohol and some yeasty notes. The alcohol is hidden quite well, but has a little "stingy peak", which does fit in well with the flavour. NosirIwont (1162), Aalborg Vestby, Denmark Dec 30, 2006 Bottle. Pours golden amber-brown with an off-white head. Sourish ‘winey’ aroma. Malt, bread, alcohol and slightly wooden notes. Sweetish malty flavour. Raisins, plums and bread. Has a whiskey-like touch. 30-12-06. raymondwave (867), Finland Dec 29, 2006 Much better than the dubbel and blonde. No estery fruitiness (banana, melon). Liqourice, maybe some anis. Quite nice, altho I drank this propably too cold. thewolf (5635), Kolding, Denmark Dec 26, 2006 Dark mahogany with little film head. Lightly sour with plums and berries in the aroma. Quite sweet and quite vinious with toffee flavours with tones of berries. Cornfield (4892), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA Nov 18, 2006 This is a tempting looking beer, pouring a clear brown body highlighted in orange and red, sporting a hefty beige head that laces the class nicely. It smells like a fruit flavored liquer, but I’m having trouble with the fruit. Tart Cherries? Some sour oranges? There’s a toffee sweetness in there, too. The flavor retains that fruity tartness, sourness. The alcohol pushes its way forward. Brown sugar tips its hat and shakes its hand with some caramel. The finish is hot and sticky sweet. Very nice. More!

SudsMcDuff (1691), was CapeTown,SA-now Houston, Texas, USA Nov 14, 2006 Orange brown at pour...ok head for the alco...fruity yeast caramel smell...sweet,pretty damn dusty..the forum got lucky...good masking, like a weak liqueur shot when warm..a great beer but.....? drank the same day me and my bro played soccer on the field around OPA’s..that fattie was great! HogTownHarry (3922), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada Nov 8, 2006 Bottle (330ml). Courtesy of Biegaman. In my Chimay goblet. Slightly hazy deep orange, average foamy-frothy lasting beige head. Sweet brown sugar malt aroma, very yeasty cinnamon and other sweet spice; alcohol. Taste - very much what the aroma promised, but boozier and fruity, with an increasing alcohol dominance as it warms - even a hint of tartness in the finish. Syrupy, solid body, very lively and alcoholic, sticky sweet linger - pretty solid belgian strong, very sweet, maybe a little too boozy, but I’m partial to the style, so decent marks. Thanks, Jan!
