330 ml bottle. Average white head. Coarse bubbles. Dark brown color with a red hue. Sugary caramel aroma. Surprisingly little aroma. Flavour is very sweet with notes of raisins, candy sugar and figs. Alcohol is dominating the palate. Complex flavours, but a tad too sweet.

(Bottle at Belgobaren, Stockholm) Nice amber color with a lasting offwhite head. Aroma is mailky, creamy with toffee and vanilla. ALso sourish with notes of juniper berries and a bit vinous. Sourish flavor, vinous and a bit strong. Fruity from grapes. Quite mild finish and with alcohol well hidden. Different for being a dark belgian, but still good.

I have to say i was expecting something of a quad here. Sweet malt aroma. A different to usual taste, cant quite figure out what though, a bit syrupy.

33 cl Bottle. No yeast in bottom. Reddish brown colour with a fizzy white head. Sweet aroma with notes of malt and sourness. Also sweet and sour flavour with notes of malt and dried fruit, becomes sticky and alcoholic.

Tasted 09/12/2005. 330ml bottle from Regional Wines. Pours a reddish-brown with a light-tan head, that rears up a little and then fades away. Nose has a hint of spice but is mostly sweet malt and cognac-like alcohol. Sweet caramel and toffee in the mouth with some hints of port. Verging towards cloying. Warming, as you’d expect. Short and rather one-dimensional for such a strong beer. Followed this with the more complex and balanced Emerson’s Old 95, which blew it away totally.
