[Vintage 2005, Sampled 2008] Brown with a low but dense head. Sweet malty aroma with notes of caramel, dates and spice. The flavours are dark overripe fruits, spicy and roasted malts. It has aged surprisingly well.

Coloração marrom avermelhada e turva. Creme bege, ótimo. Notas de caramelo, laranja e possivelmente vinho. Licorosa. Levemente amarga. Muito bem balanceada. Carbonatação baixa. Muito boa!

Creme denso e consistente. No aroma e no paladar, madeira, frutas vermelhas e leve sugestão de licor. O final é longo e levemente amargo. Delícia.

Dark body with a sizable head. Flavor was burnt caramel with the Grimbergen house sweetness.

Hmm... the best part about the beer is really the nice satisfyingly warm feeling in your stomach. Deep red color with moderate head that leaves behind some lace. Smells like virtually every other grimbergen beer. Flavor is sweet/sour and a mildly bitter aftertaste. Sometimes you taste the alcohol a bit too much out of this beer. Like I said though, the best part about the beer is when you're finished and have a nice warm feeling in your stomach.

Bottle from 2004. Brown hazy body. Huge lasting light brown head with good lacing. Fruity aroma, nuts, caramel and basement. Thick, creamy texture. The flavor is sweet, none bitterness but some sour finish.

Brun øl. Duft af meget karamel og metal og belgisk gær, Smag er slet ikke som alm. Brune. Denne er meget tungere og sprittet, og er svær fremkommelig.Syrlig smag. Stærk alcohol.

Clear, rudy brown, weak head. Sweet and solvent-like aroma. Sugar and alcohol on the palate. Rather neutral and a bit rubbery flavour, not so bad, but not very good either.
