Pours a hazy orange copper with a thin lightly-lacing off-white head. Aroma is lightly tart, bready and yeasty with a touch of caramel and alcohol. Starts with a bittersweet citric tartness and a nice, full, malty bready body. Finishes dry and lightly warming. A decent Belgian strong. Thanks to TheBeerCellar2 for sharing.

hazy red-brown colour with a little foam; strong spicy nose (horseradish and something else I can’t put a name on it) with notes of strawberries, solvant and alcohol in the background; strong malt body, a bit oily and definitively on the sweet side though a correct bitterness shows itself at the end; the finish is dry and very malty, very spicy and with long warming alcohol notes - lacks of cohesion

Thick yellowish head, gone in seconds, but leaving the flimsiest of lace all over the glass. Deep brown beer with orange shine. Nose gives both portwine and perfume. Smells really like a (decent) fortified wine. Roasted and burnt malts in the taste. Licorice in abundance and burnt sugar. Some fruity esters too, but the above sugarmass doesn't leave it much chances. For all its body and oily feel, it has a rather thinnish texture. Alcoholburn prominent. The port flavour returns retronasal. If the bottle would bear the label "Trappist Ultimo Bruno", we'ld be all in ashes about "them going down". With the label Grimbergen the feeling is more as in "as expected". The portflavour (seen the BBd, unlinked to any ageing) is a really nice touch, however.

Amber colour with nice creamy head. Aroma is sweet with malt and alcohol. Flavor is sweet with with fruit, spices and good malt, quite a bit port flavor in this beer.

What a great brew! Reddish dark brown with tasty head. Huge vinous aroma with a fantastic touch of acidity. The flavour is extremely powerful and complex. Strong, fruity, sweet. Very full bodied with a sirupy mouthfeel. I love this brew.

(33cl bottle, via DerDoppelbock) Slightly hazy, mahogany colour with a creamy, slightly tanned layer. Sweet fruit-accented (plums, dried berries) aroma with light toasty and slightly acidic vinous notes, accompanied with a touch of alcohol. Sweet, sugary flavour, full bodied with medium to lively carbonation. Malty and fruity taste with a vinous and a light spicy note; sweet malty and balanced fruity finish with a quite well-integrated alcohol according to the high abv. Not very complex but pleasant to drink.

Vapors of Chicoutai (a blueberry liquor) and chocolate pudding…Glistening molasses and caramel in alcohol bitterness…A fireside treat…

Clear amber with a huge beige head. Aroma is sweet and fruity. Has notes of caramel and spices. Flavour is caramelsweet and has notes of coriander, I believe. Distinct alcahol burn in the aftertaste. Decent beer, but by far not the best BSA, i’ve tried.
