Oct 17, 2001 Updated: Mar 12, 2006Bottled. Aroma of caramel malts, light lactic and several spices. Dark brown color, beige head, nice lace. Light sweet, light lactic, light bitter, quite spicy, light pepper, cinamon, fruity, hints of sugar. Nice warming mouthfeel.

Mar 12, 2005 Pours a hazy orange copper with a thin lightly-lacing off-white head. Aroma is lightly tart, bready and yeasty with a touch of caramel and alcohol. Starts with a bittersweet citric tartness and a nice, full, malty bready body. Finishes dry and lightly warming. A decent Belgian strong. Thanks to TheBeerCellar2 for sharing.

Sep 29, 2003 Confirm that the head does disappear fast. Nice spicy nose, nots of curacao, some maderisation (like a porto), in the mouth, the alcohol is very present, with candy sugar, some bitterness in after taste...enjoyable

Sep 24, 2006 Deep ruby body with tawny tinges. Light tan head leaving solid rings of lacing. Fairly full aroma of dried fruits and yeast. Plenty of characters in the taste, alcohol noticeable, medium body and long finish. This drinks best when it is not chilled.

Jan 12, 2007 The pour reveals a clear brown color with a thick, diminishing, offwhite head. Interesting aroma of raisins, dates with toasted malt, smells a lot like a fruit cake. Good flavor of raisins, dates and toasted malt with a sweet finish. The body has a light to medium thickness with a liquorous texture and moderate carbonation. An interesting beer, I think that Optimo Bruno has seen better days but it’s still an enjoyable beer.
