Nice red-amber color with small foamy white head. Fresh hoppy aroma with some anise and herbs. Medium to full bodied, oily palate with warming alcohol. Sweetish with fruity hops. Light bitter hoppy aftertaste. Very nice balanced brew, almost more like English than Belgium Ale. maeib (4725), Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, England

A dark brown coloured beer with a dark red hue and a nice off white blanket of a head which leaves reasonable lacing. The aroma is moussey fruits with candy sugar and a little treacle. A very nice smell. The taste is strong and malty. A touch sweet and some candy sugar. Berry fruits and a tasty long finish. Alcohol doesn’t show itself to be 10% M0RHI (1067), Luxembourg, Luxembourg

Pours a dark brown colour with a huge off-white bubbly head that lasts well and laces - inviting. Nose is very toffee malt with some sweet slight lemon spice and clean alcohol, touch of cherry and dark fruit, vinous touch. Mouth is lovely and thick, alcohol disguised well, vinous and malty, very warm. Continues warmness into the palate, with just a hint of hoppiness and florality at the very end of the tongue. A yeasty taste remains, which is not all that bad. All in all, an excellent beer. Quinten (959), zaandam, Netherlands

Forget lacing - a practical fortress of malt envelopes the glass. Nose of walnuts, brown sugar, orange, oak, grass and spices. Taste to match with a punch of alcohol. Very similar to spiced rum. Long, sharp cheese finish with sweet top notes. Amazing stuff! gam (1103), brisbane, Australia

Certainly has a malty and dried fruits. This beer goes down very easy with a sweet and very distinct Grimbergen flavor. Very strong and a tad hot. I liked it, but I like the dubbel more. note666 (288), Eindhoven, Netherlands
