Flavour caramel malts, alcohol and some yeasty notes. The alcohol is hidden quite well, but has a little "stingy peak", which does fit in well with the flavour. hughie (3081), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England

Sweet malty, spicy aroma rather like an alcoholic chocolate gateau: an absolutely wonderful introduction. Does any other beer have such a delectable aroma? The taste had to be a slight disappointment after that. It was almost cloyingly sweet with caramel, dark fruits and plums. The sharp bitterness nearly saved it. Nightfall (647), Athens, Greece

An aroma that should be awarded an ABV. Marmite AND strawberries?? Apparently so. Deep red resolving into a swirly beige scum, clumped with dense patches of foam. Sweet malty strawberry finishing with a pleasing lactose-stouty sourness (Mackeson?). Yep, incredibly, that’s what it reminds me of. Lovely stuff, but should be illegal. (Re-rate 01/06/07 Odd but not unpleasant balsamic chip shop batter nose. Orange, liquorice, brown sugar. Stirred with a Twiglet. Good, but nothing like as good as it seemed a year ago. Godt bid i smagen som ikke kommer fra humlen men fra karboneringen, hvilket er en god modvægt til sødmen. Rigtig god øl.
