Lots of candy sugar sweetness in the flavour. Lots of yeasty citrus characters and too much raw alcohol noticed. Very sweet and one dimensional mouthfeel. | 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Sep 15, 2006 Can’t be excited about this even after downing many, bored by the lack of beer-enthusiasm in Mont Martre, France. I tried this on draught in a ’Jamaican’ bar of all things, the least of which I expected, or didn’t expect at all, in this affluent quarter of the already pompous realm of gaye Parie.
Into its own chalice from the tap. Poured an oily yellow with a touch of darker shade. Limp, layer of white cream donned it, leaving no lace. Aroma was too subtle but held some white bread, yeast and cantaloupe. In the mouth it was harsh, chilled and fizzy. Licks of subtleties developed but didn’t enthral. House yeast, cantaloupe and candied lemon, soft pear and vanilla in back Harsh swallow, warming, little length. I drank this because it was there, a bottled version would be a better determination. I didn’t like it as is. Yet, in beer devoid Paris this wasn’t too bad. Extra points!
