| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 5, 2006 Nicely lacing head which leaves large sheets of off-white foam around the glass sides. Otherwise, the pour is totally clear and of an earthy caramel color. Smelling, it does feel rather shy and unexpressive, leaving an impression of cerealic grains, some perhaps underfermented malts comprising a good dose of residual sugars, yet not managing to give anything resembling a caramelly suggestion. In mouth, it feels surprisingly hoppy compared to the other grisettes. A good slicing herbal/leafy aromatic combination does give the impression of increased dryness. The bitterness remains unagressive, imparting a slight lagery character, though the carbonation is obviously too creamy, if active for that. Slightly vegetal aspects, but I can’t say they don’t intermingle nicely with the bready and herbal notes. Simple and approachable beer, but you’re not gonna lift any hearts with that one.
