Commercial Description:
Just in time for the “big” weather is the “big” bottle of Gritty’s new 21 IPA. Gritty’s “21 IPA” is a unique blend of American hops with a British body utilizing English 2-Row Pale malts. This IPA starts out with a hoppy aroma and taste; ending with a sweet finish. Plenty of Munich and caramalts are used to give the beer that golden hue. There are fifty-six pounds of Cascade Hops used in each 50 barrel batch that is brewed! Then we finish the beer with Willamette & Warrior Hops, (Warrior is a high-alpha acid variety of hops) All this leads to an IPA that is worthy to celebrate our 21st Anniversary! Gravity: 1069, ABV: 6.8% IBU’s: 60.

Not too bad at all. Has a nice deep golden color. Smells of hops with some undertones of malts and what seems to me is caramel. Taste is mainly of sweeter hops. Has a little bit of a bit in the end, but nothing compared to the bite of some of the more true IPS’s.

Slight and pedestrian fragrance. Nice hue but little head, more like a bitter than an IPA. Not an overwhelming amount of flavor by any means, but fresh tasting and still nicely hopped. I think it hides the 6.8% fairly well. A decent session IPA, and very similar to Red Hook Longhammer.

Pours a four finger light brown head that fades slowly leaving a good lace. Crystal clear amber color. Light-medium carbonation and light bodied. Mild grapefruit hops nose. Flavor is nearly balanced but the grapefruit hops come through with a lingering bitter finish. Unusually watery for an IPA. $2.00 for a 12oz bottle from Northend Superette Manchester, NH.

A nice surprize while I was on vacation in Maine. It had a nice hop aroma and taste. It made me what to order another. Not a bad IPA to cut the heaviness of a chowda (or Chowder depending on where your from).

Not bad, your standard IPA, has a nice citrus/pine hop taste to it, okay body.

Sample. Pours gold with a small head. Balanced body leaning towards some light fruitiness and pale malt. Clean and balanced, well made.

A wonderful mix of hops cascading with an amber excellence found in no other. And the fruit after taste is perfect.
