Pours a crystal-clear light amber body with a thin film of off-white head. Grapefruit, pine, and butterscotch dominate the aroma. Grapefruit, pith, lemon, grass, caramel, toffee, butterscotch... As feared, there is some diacetyl playing a role in this beer, but with so many bright bold pleasant flavors here, the diacetyl at worst fades into the background and at best plays well with many of the other flavors. A very solid IPA for sure and a slam dunk for Gritty’s. sigma23 (236), , Maine, USA

ARoma is pleasant, nutty, fruity, wooden and also quite caramel malty. Flavour is quite much the same. Very pleasantly balanced. Like a British bitter with some very US IPA notes. Pours a golden amber with a nice foamy white head. Aroma is grassy, bitter, fresh hops and pretty muted. Flavor is hoppy at first, and a minor bit sweet, bitter, and a bit stingy. Straight up cascades which is nice, makes for a nice west coast style feel, similar to a hoppier Sierra Nevada Pale ale. I like this beer much more than I thought i would! The negatives lie in it’s somewhat harsh mouthfeel. Otherwise this is a pretty nice little IPA. Way better than i expected, the IPA’s i’ve had at the brewpub in Portland were nowhere near this good.
