Initially a lot of staying power foam and good aroma of malt and hops. The initial taste was good, then harsh carbonation wore me down. More..ingredients.

12 oz bottle. Good looking reddish copper color with a small white foamy head. Aroma was mostly malt but had a nice balanced sweetness on the flavor. Very drinkable bitter.

THOUGHTS: This was my first regular bitter. I’ve had had ESBs but no not knowingly a bitter. It was pretty much what I would have thought — rather Brittish. I’m more of a sipping beer kind of guy these days, and thd this isn’t one of those beers. This is one you can really knock back and it makes you want to have another. It would make a nice change of pace as a session beer from the ever-present pale ales and lagers. Nice as a change of pace but not something I’m crazy about, but I would definitely try another bitter. TECHNICAL: Bottle. Surprised by the twist-off cap. Poured a clear, light to medium amber with an average, white head that mostly diminished and left good lacing. The aroma was moderate caramel malt and light floral hops and just a little lemon. The initial flavor was lightly sweet and moderately acidic. while the finish was moderately sweet and bitter, heavily acidic and sour with a short to average duration. The body was light and dry up front and watery in the back with lively carbonation and a metallic finish.

Amber color with little head. Smokey, ear wax aroma. Malt taste with little hop. Thin. Smokey, twang finnish lasts in the mouth.

Solid American interpretation with distinctly British malt character. Floral aromatics and a mildy bitter finish make this pleasing all around session brew. nice toasty malt character.

Not amazing but not bad. A bit like some of the shipyard brews, but still good. Always glad to have a maine beer

A nice beer but nothing to rant and rave about. Brewed with ringwood malt which overpowers the beer. It gives it a unique flavor but reminds me very much of Shipyard Export Ale. A good session beer.
