Pours a clear copper colour with a medium creamy off-white head that fades to a thin film. No lacing. The nose is muted with lightly toasted bready malts with some overlaying perfume-like hops. The flavour is of fruity hops and plasticine bready malts. Some zesty citric notes poke through as well. The palate is thin, crisp and relatively long. The finish is a little metallic, as beers done in this style tend to be too often.

Mild malt with floral hops in the aroma. Hazy light orange color with a small white head. Sweet fruit malt taste with a light background of hops.

Cask (gravity) @ Great British Beer Festival, GBBF 2008, Earls Court, London, England SW5.
Clear medium amber orange color with a average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, caramel, moderate hoppy, orange. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (070808)

Bottle... Hazy amber ale with golden highlights and a mid-sized, creamy, white head. Good retention. Fruity, sweaty, beef stock aroma... a bad combination. Light to medium-bodied with moderate carbonation. A touch more bitter than their Original Pub Style... mildly tangy as well. Very lightly bitter finish.

(Bottle). Floral malty aroma. Reddish orange color, thin off white head. Flavor is floral and malty, with some mild hops bitterness. Chalkiness and earthiness, too.

A Mes rate: gravicask at GBBF.
Damn I was really impressed with this one. An attractive golden brown with a thin off white head and very good condition. Good fruity and earthy malt aroma but it really comes alive in the mouth. Superb English style stuff with some slightly sweet and excellent malt balanced beautifully but some lip smacking bitter hoppage. There is just a perfect level of casky chalkiness in both the nose and in the mouth and it’s clear as day that this is just hitting the sweet spot perfectly. Bitter finish with slight grass and tobacco that is really lengthy, eventually leaving a glorious malty aftertaste. Superbly made, at the peak of it’s life and superbly drinkable. The alcohol level is pitched just right. Glorious stuff.

Pours a cloudy amber color with a thin off white head and the nose has some nice hints of flowers. The flavor is kind of bland and there is not much flavor. The finish is kind of watery and could use some more balance of hops and malt.

Cask at the GBBF 2008. Deep golden to amber colour. Nice fruity hops in the aroma. Decent hops in the flavour too, notes of blackcurrant leaves.
