Well, yes, if you wanted to make an English best bitter, this is pretty close. Some grapefruit, but it’s got good biscuit. Enormously authentic. If it was English it would get a 3/5. I would expect more malt from a UK beer, but as a US interpretation, it’s pretty good. They didn’t throw a whole load of hops at it like some brewers might have done. Aroma was malty with caramel and grain with hints of floral hops and woodiness. The flavor was lightly to moderately sweet and lightly bitter. Light taste of butterscotch, apple and oak. Nice dry finish. Medium body, watery texture and low carbonation as you’d expect from a handpull. Enjoyable and easy drinking.

I was surprised by how good this was. The use of English hops certainly helps to make this feel like a UK rather than a US beer. A very nice bitter. KimJohansen (7136), Copenhagen V, Denmark

It has a bitter (hence the name) flavor but it was smooth. Not really any type of after-taste to complain about but this does live up to it’s name. Try it out! What to do you have to lose!
