The appearance is pale gold with a nice head. The flavor is like the aroma. The palate is thin. Overall it’s not the best. Palidor19 (1785), Brandon, Florida, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | May 29, 2008 Ringwood yeast aromas, crystal malts, spicy hops with a slight citrus aroma. Pours dark golden colot with a thin white head. Smooth with a good bitterness, sweet malts with a dry finish. Not bad, a good session beer even with the ringwood taste dominating. malrubius (1004), Valley Stream, New York, USA

Mild caramel and yeast aroma. Caramel grainy with a medium bitterness. Medium-light body and medium carbo. Authentic English bitter taste. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 28, 2008 My first Gritty’s brew, which I enjoyed in York, Maine. Poured a clear amber colour with a decent sized off white head. Aroma is a battle between sweet and hopped. Taste is initially sweet but tapers off into a pleasently mild bitter flavor. Taste is moderately carbonated, fruit forward and not overly acidic. Decent beer :) illinismitty (1799), Nashville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 13, 2008 Bottle from Super Saver in Pennington, NJ. Pours amber with an off white head. Aroma of bready malts and seeping grains. British like in body and carbonation, but more american in texture. Flavor of toffee, caramel, and slight citrus. There is a balancing herbal bitterness that carries through to the finish, which has some slight butteriness. This is actually a fairly decent interpretation of the style. Put this on cask and I might get flashbacks of being back in the UK.
