It is wonderful on cask. Only problem is the morning afterwards..Akin to eating baked beans. Need I say more. Regardless. I love it. wickedpete (627), Lexington Park, Maryland, USA

I recently had this from the cask at Gritty’s pub in Portland during the Old Port fest. Even from a plastic cup it was still darn good. I dig the way the flavor sticks in your mouth like a taffy sticks to your teeth. deduchar (32), Rhode Island, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 2/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Jan 17, 2009 From a 12 fl. oz. bottlewith an expiration date of May-June 2009. The pour is a rusty tone or copper with some beige head. It is a tad cloudy. Pleasing aroma of strong malts and something citrus-like. The mouthfeel is pretty decent; I’d say about average to above average. A bitter, somewhat sour taste and finishes dry. Although this is my first review of it I have been drinking this one for several years and enjoyed it. iwantalambic (1389), St. Louis, Missouri, USA

The grapefruit rind flavours are chewy and bitter with a nice saltiness. Why can't more U.S. Brewpubs makes good bitters? A great example of a classic session ale: great character & flavour. An attractive golden brown with a thin off white head and very good condition. Good fruity and earthy malt aroma but it really comes alive in the mouth. Superb English style stuff with some slightly sweet and excellent malt balanced beautifully but some lip smacking bitter hoppage. There is just a perfect level of casky chalkiness in both the nose and in the mouth and it’s clear as day that this is just hitting the sweet spot perfectly. Bitter finish with slight grass and tobacco that is really lengthy, eventually leaving a glorious malty aftertaste. Superbly made, at the peak of it’s life and superbly drinkable. The alcohol level is pitched just right. Glorious stuff. Sigmund (2284), Hafrsfjord, Norway
