Bottle: Pours black with a big light tan head. Aroma, some plastic notes, and chocolate. Flavor, roasty, some fruits, dry, kinda watery, and way over carbonated.

12 oz bottle. Poured black with a huge tan head that did not want to calm down. No lacing to speak of. Not much nose at all, although that might be my allergies fault, not the beers. Very light on the palate, very dry. This was a good beer, but I can’t say it was a real good stout. To light without much malt flavor.

One bottle from BOTW. Large foamy tan head that lasted. Deep dark color to the body. Aroma of sweet malts and roasted coffee. Flavor is also sweet with roasted coffee. Typical stout. No harsh bitter bite detected. It was good.

On tap at Redbones BBQ. Pours a deep brown with some amber highlights. Thick creamy tan lacing head. Aroma was very light with just hints of some roasted malts, chocolate and coffee. Flavor of light roasted malts, some chocolate, sweet maltiness and overall thin and water. Not too impressed.

Poured a clear very dark ruby brown color with a medium sized cream colored head. Nice lacing. Mildly roasty aroma with some paper notes. Mild roasted flavor with a hint of tartness. Semi-dry with a light bitterness and light body.

A pleasant brew after all I’ve been thru today. A mountain of tiny bubbles appeared on top of this beer and didnt seem to want to stop. Fortunately, I was working on repointing the basement walls and it settled down an assumed its fate for a ride thru my kidneys. Its better that way when the beer wants to be consumed. This was not the best dry stout that I have ever had, but it certainly fit the bill today. Hops were subdued, nearly to the point of being an afterthought.

Pitch black coloured body with a super thin tan head. Deep roasty smell, chocolate and coffee also noticeable as well. Medium-bodied; Nice strong malty flavour with some coffee notes. Aftertaste shows bitter and dark characteristics - nice! Overall, a good stout, nice to try. I sampled this twelve ounce botttle purchased at Oliver’s Beverage in Albany, New York on 10-March-2007.
