Medium thickness. Obvious chocolate, caramel and toffee tones, but with a nice creamy body. goes down oh so smooth. I think what separates this from a truly legendary stout is drinkabilty. it goes down fast and doesn’t quiet give you that full stomach satisfaction of other stouts. not that this is bad, there’s nothing wrong with a easy going dark brew. Aroma is somewhat nutty with lots of roasted notes, coffee and some sweeter vanilla accented bready notes. Body is flat black and holds a fluffy and lasting 3 finger thick mocha head. Very nice mix of roasted elements, coffee, chocolate and creamy mouthfeel. The added Brown Ale nuttiness and mild vanilla notes make this fairly unique. Seems to lack a little heft and taste almost non-alcoholic, but despite that the great flavor left me impressed and this turned out to be much better than anticipated. Very British feeling in mouthfeel, but the flavor is quite American and I’m pretty impressed. ElPresidente1984 (173), Maine, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Apr 14, 2006 22 oz. bottle. Opaque dark brown colour with a frothy diminishing tan head. Rich chocolate aroma, citrus and woody notes. Astringent, sweetish roast coffee flavours that dry out toward the finish. Light bodied and dry and fizzy mouthfeel. Disappointing after the aroma.
