22 oz bomber. Poured a deep black with a rather large head that fades slowly to a quarter inch head over the course of several minutes. Aroma is the typical roasted coffee scent expected of an American stout. Palate is good, not overly carbonated. Flavor is middle of the road, nothing to knock your socks off. One that I’m glad I tried, but not something I’d seek out.

Deep reddish brown in pouring; black and opaque in glass with large brown head. Aroma strong and inviting, like chocolate and roasted coffee. Flavor of chocolate and coffee as well, though not as strong as aroma. Little watery on palate, not as full and thick as expected.

Dark opaque hue, with a frothy tan-colored head, with a sweet mocha, chocolate and cappuccino nose, and roasted malt aroma, follows through on a medium-bodied with roasted malt, burnt toast, fruity, dry raisins, sweet mocha note, leading to a dark roasted coffee bitterness finish.

On tap at the brewpub. Deep black color with a thin light brown head. Weak aroma of roasted malt. Weak and bland flavor of coffee and roasted malt. As with most of Gritty McDuff beers the palate is light and watery.

Bottle - Poured a deep dark black/brown with a very creamy tan head that lasted quite a while. Aroma was medium of coffee, roasted malts and some chocolate. Flavor was also of roasted malts with some coffee, but not too bitter. Finish was fairly long and medium bitter. I like this...

Deep dark brown color with minimal tan head. Creamy toasted hop aroma. Nicely bitter, good carbonation, just a touch sweet, and settles to a smoky chocolate with a quick hop hit in the finish.

(12 oz bottle) Deep mahogany color. Rich tan head, holds pretty well, pretty good lacing. Coffee and chocolate in nose. Nice and smooth, real easy to drink. Rich roasted flavor, somewhat bitter, definite coffee taste. Very slight grassy aftertaste. A fine Maine brew.

bomber...garnet red pour with a nice frothy tan head. Roasted malt aroma, lightly sweet. Thin mouthfeel, too thin. Slightly bitter, roasted malt, not very sweet. Dry, thin and unimpressive. Lingering bitterness, decent hop presence.
