12 oz bottle. Obviously a bottle conditioned beer as the head was huge and took quite awhile to settle down. Aroma: chocolate, roast, a bit carboardy. Taste is alittle bit better with roast, chocolate, light caramel, still a bit cardboardy. Also a bit thin.

Bottle: Poured with an immense head ... nearly 100% tan foam, slow to surrender the liquid, solid like a whipped cream. Once it finally settles, it gives way to a nicely robust aroma of chalky chocolate and java. The flavors are nice too -- dark, bitter chocolate, black coffee and a bit of ash. Tad light in body, which isn’t what I’d expected after the massive head. Quality stout all the same. (#3213, 11/20/2008)

yes coffee and dark chocolate with a correspondingly mediocre body. hoppy yes but in a mildly unbalanced way. also somewhat refreshing but still a bit watery. not bad for keeping you off balance. touch of sour milk taste again too watery.

Pours black with a very frothy tan head which stays as a medium head. Has a very coffee-like taste and a dark chocolate finish.

(Draught) Pours a dark mahogany body with a moderate creamy tan head. Aroma of light sourness, cocoa, nuts, and roastiness. Flavor of roasted malt, chocolate, and caramel with a dry mouthfeel and moderate bitterness in the finish.
