| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 17, 2008 Pours a darkbrown wth a bit of fizziness, looks better aged than its half year storage. Neutral in the aroma. More or less medium mouthfeel. Taste is good, and drinkability good, based on malt, a bit of roasted malt, touch of nuttiness, background but significant bitterness in mid-sip, some chocolate, scotch-like something.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 3, 2008 Better than I expected, but how hard can it be to spice the hell out of a decent brown ale. But they claim that there are no spices added, only the work of their well-trained yeast. In that case, wow. Nose of PNW hops and sweet malts. Taste of sweet malts, citrus hops, classic floral and bittering noble hops, alcohol, and a surprising slam of cinnamon, nutmeg, dried fruit, and pumpkin pie spicing. Hard to imagine wanting these often, but this was interesting and enjoyable. Beerdedone (1885), Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA
