| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 4, 2007 (bottle - 12 oz) Ruby red in color with no head to speak of. Aroma is very malty with hints of caramel, coffee, toffee, and smoke. Flavor is very sweet at the start with lots of dry and sweet malts. Some caramel and bubblegum dominate the flavor with a sweet and slightly bitter finish and very carbonated body. jgb9348 (2515), Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | May 26, 2007 Deep amber coloured body with a tint of brown and a very thin off-white head. Aroma of malt, caramel, nuts, pit fruits and some spices. Medium-bodied; Potent hoppiness up front with a good malt backbone coupled with a light amount of spices. Aftertaste shows a little hops, but nothing special - nor ESB-like. More malt and caramel follows with not much else. Overall, a decent beer - I can’t see what the hoopla is about, it isn’t a good ESB at all in my book. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Oliver’s in Albany, New York on 26-May-2007 on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. beastiefan2k (1605), Lawrence (formely NYC), Kansas, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 18, 2007 12 oz bottle best before October’07. Small head, color is dark dark amber. A clear beer but dark enough to allow only medium visibility. Aroma is good strong maltiness with candied sugar surrounding a slightly coffee-ish biscuit. Some vanilla in there as well. A nice supped up ESB. Taste starts of with a plain ESB biscuit but finishes strong with that candied sugar coffee like biscuit. Aftertaste is slightly roasty. Just a hint of bitterness at the end to round it out. A very nice brew, sipper, returnable and recommended. TaktikMTL (2786), Montréal-Nord, Quebec, Canada

Légère présence de caramel en arrière goût. (Rating #1026) Glouglouburp (2877), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 9, 2007 Partly cloudy copper body with a small beige head. Oily empty body with lots of small bubbles. Cake malts with a taste of watery toffee and hints of butterscotch. Lacks punch. I think it was showing early signs of Diacetyl. Some spicy hops at the end. Worst Christmas I had since my childhood when Santa was drunk and fell on the Christmas tree. Too bad my father wasn’t there to see it. iowaherkeye (1873), Los Angeles, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 6, 2007 12oz <Best Before October 2007. Pours a clear orange brown with a one finger creamy beige head. Aroma of nuts--hazelnuts the strongest--brown sugar, bready malts, a little bit of earthy hops. Flavor is much the same with a little bit of toffee added to the sweetness rather than brown sugar. There is also a slight metallic quality, though not distracting. Semidry finish, mild bitterness. Soft carbonation, light-medium bodied which would be fantastic if a little fuller. This wants to be creamy but can’t quite get there. Thanks to Dan (jah noth) for this brew!
