| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Dec 17, 2008 bomber from a trade with cletus. pours amber reddish brown with a sustained off white head. aromas are soapy with some malt and hops but just really soapy. i got the same thing from their regular bitter, it must be a part of their house flavour. very nice ESB progression. caramel and lightly toasted malts lead to a hoppy but not bitter finish. the taste lingers and is memorable. pretty good brew all around. thx cletus! doublea (16), , California, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Nov 2, 2008 Reddish brown, leaning more towards brown. Lacy, light head. Light hops, caramel and maybe some citrus in aroma.
Tastes better as it warms up, but still not anything special. Balanced earthy tones, malt and light hops. Eh. It’s OK. Maybe what botters me is the light body. dogfish120love (259), west hartford, Connecticut, USA

Malty but not over done, slightly sweet and makes me think of fall. It’s not spiced enough to be a pumpkin but not a marzen either. Damn good though. mrant (330), New York, USA

Taste is well-balanced bitter hops with plenty of malt. A very enjoyable beer, but I don’t get why this is a Halloween beer. NJBeerman013 (776), Trenton, New Jersey, USA
