Commercial Description:
Technically speaking, this ale can be described as an Extra Special Bitter. What that really means is that more of everything that goes into our bitter is added to the Halloween Ale -- more imported barley and more fresh Goldings hops from East Kent in England. This strong ale is also given some extra time in the conditioning tank, allowing it to mellow considerably.

KSBF 08- Clear orange amber pour, decent head. Earthy hops and light caramel aroma. Good blend of grains and hops with a malt smooth texture. Slight hops bitterness towards the finish, decent ale all around.

Pours clear dark amber, slight white head, dissipates quickly. Light malt aroma, pretty decent balance in the taste - the hops aren’t overpowering, which is good. Nothing amazing but a pretty good beer.

On tap at KSBF ’08. Amber body topped by a god sized head. Smells of vanilla, spice, grassy hops. Taste is similar with hops playing a bigger role. A pleasant surprise.

Nice brown color with slight red hint to it. Has a malty scent with hints of nutty/hoppy flavor. I can taste a little bit of hops it and it’s nice and smooth. Aftertaste has little bit of bite but goes away within seconds. Very pleasurable brew.

Has a decent malty presence with some astringency, little bit of caramel but the hops are what shine in this beer.

The aroma is malty and slightly yeasty with a touch of hops. The appearance is amber with an average head. The flavor is like the aroma with an astringent bitterness and a caramel malt finish. The palate is thin but smooth. Overall it’s decent.

Malty aroma. Clear orange color with a small tan head. Moderate malt flavor in the beginning with a slightly sour finish.
