Commercial Description:
A more robust version of our Pale Ale is given extra time to condition and mellow. The result is a fairly strong ale that still has the distinctive dry hop character and "snap" of our regular Pale. AKA, "Uncle Andy's IPA".

On tap at Gritty’s in Portland, Maine--Poured a copper=bronze body with a small white head. Buttery English diacytol notes. Not very hoppy for an American IPA. Quite boring and unfinishable.

(Cask at GBBF, London, 9 Aug 2007) Dark copper colour with brief head. Fruity nose with notes of dark fruit, hints of grapefruit and pine needles, malty foundation. Fruity, malty taste with dark and/or dried fruit, oranges, grapefruit, pine needles and a malty, slightly nutty background. Sweetish, solid mouthfeel. Complex but with great balance. Nice beer.

Cask@GBBF2007. Amber colour, mediumsized beige head. Aroma is hoppy, fruity and slightly wooden. Flavour is the same, but a lot of grassyness has come along. Really dry palate.

Cask-GBBF. Copper with a small, but lasting off-white head. Malty and toffee aroma with a hint of grass. Malty flavour with a bitter and obvious American hop flavour.

Cask gravity at GBBF 2007. Amber colour with thin beige head. Nice hoppy aroma. Decent IPA, good grapefruit on finish. Toffee. Nice enough without being outstanding.
