12oz bottle-pours a disappearing light tan head and copper color. Aroma is toffee-medium malt, some peat, a sharpness-fruity yeast, some cocoa (detractor). Taste is watery malt, husky, then tonic water, herbal/medicinal, the aroma was mostly nice with one detractor, the taste was mostly detractors. Thanks jwc215 for picking this out.

On tap at the Freeport brewpub. Like most of the beers at Gritty’s this one is good though nothing spectacular.

Slightly hazy brown coloured body with a light tan head anda a ruby coloured tint. Aroma of malt, light hops, peanuts, toffee and some mild spices. Light to Medium-bodied; Malty taste up front with some mild hop tastes followed by a strong amount of peanuts and some toffee flavours. Aftertaste is very mild - no strong tastes at all...some peanuts, malt and a light sweetness, that’s all. Overall, a decent beer - not a style I like and not very strong in it...so it’s not too bad. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Oliver’s Beverage in Albany, New York on 08-April-2006 on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.

Bottle from World of Beer, Clearwater, FL. Poured clear brown color with an average frothy brown head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate toasted nutty malt aroma. Medium body with a sticky texture and soft carbonation. Medium sweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. Solid drinkable beer.

Pours with three finger light brown head that fades slowly leaves some lace. Cloudy amber color. Light caramel nose. Light carbonation and light-medium-bodied. Flavor is a nutty caramel with hints of bitterness from the hops. $1.75 for a 12oz from Barb’s Beer Emporium Concord, NH. No Lion’s Pride on the label.
