Aroma is a little sweet with some hops and some fruit. Flavor is bitter and full of dry hops with some stale grass and grains. Finish is bitter and grainy. Not a great pale ale. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Dec 22, 2006 Bottle. Copper in color; no head. apple cider like scent with slight hint of pear . . . which is odd that I recognize since I haven’t eaten a pear in 10 years. Initially blank, empty taste - perhaps served too cold? However, flavoring subtlely reveals itself toward the back of the throat. OK, but strangely off for a pale ale. Hazmatt (363), Virginia, USA

Golden color with decent white head, minimal lacing. Lackluster but not bad flavor. Bland malt profile and little hop presence. Dry, grainy aftertaste. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 4, 2006 Bottle (12oz). Clear amber with an average foamy off-white head. Nutty caramel malt aroma, very light floral hops; dry. Taste is also very dry, caramel malt and pine-duff hop bitterness, finishes quickly and drily bitter too. Nondescript mouthfeel, a little astringent and creamy, adequately lively on the tongue, odd oily after-coating. Interesting, seems pretty fresh. GonZoBeeR (2163), ste-Eulalie, Quebec, Canada

| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Sep 3, 2006 12oz bottle. Freshness date marking not clear (so then why bother having one?). Pours a light copper with a small head that fades relatively quickly. Little aroma. Taste is fairly crisp - not much in the way of hops or robustness to speak of. Further tastes get a bit better as the beer warms. Can’t say there’s anything here that will bring me back to this particular brew again.

| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Aug 28, 2006 Pub style? Pub ales use citrus west coast American hops? Clear copper, no head. Malts and American hops in the nose, malts and American hops in the taste. Thin mouth, nasty grassy floral finish, more like a Spanish lager than a pub style ale. Drain pour ... not undrinkably unpleasant, simply too boring to finish. cfranz (261), Acton, Massachusetts, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Aug 6, 2006 The small white head quickly disappeared, its color was a clear amber. Not that hoppy, and kind of flat. Very unappealing lingering sour aftertaste. I have to wonder if I got a bad sixpack.
