Commercial Description:
Original Pub Style is a light copper-colored medium-bodied with a nice dry bite at the finish. A subtle combination of Cascade and Willamette hops give this ale a fine floral aroma and a slightly fruity aftertaste. The taste captures the freshness of a hand-crafted brew pub ale that goes right from the conditioning tank to your glass!

Pours a white, two-finger head that goes quickly leaving a little lace. Clear amber color. Medium carbonation and medium bodied. Nose is slightly hoppy. Starts with a mix of malts and hops hints of sweetness but that doesn’t last and finish is hoppy but not lingering. $1.35 for a 12oz bottle from RSVP Liquors Portland, Me.

(Cask-conditioned) Nice creamy off-white head on amberish body, some cloudiness. Aroma yeast, hops, malt. Mouthfeel smooth, no fizziness. Flowery hops predominate taste. There is also a very fresh yeasty and malty quality overall. Good.

(Draught) Sampled on tap at the brewpub in Freeport, ME. Pours a dissipated, white head with a non-carbonated orange body. Grapefruit and bitter. Fairly average.

On tap at the brewpub. Clear golden color with a ring of white lace. Aroma of hops. Ordinary flavor of fruity hops with caramel. Light to medium body, oily texture and soft carbonation.

Bottle. Nice deep amber. Light Floral & citruisy hop aroma blends nicely with malty caramel. Thin body & lack of flavor to back up the aroma. Passable as a session beer.

Bottle - Poured a golden amber in color with a whitish head. Aroma was malty and buttery with some floral hops mixed in. Flavor was not too distinctive and weaker than the aroma promised. Watery. Not a good effort for Gritty...

Very average beer here. Somewhat like a light version of their bitter, oddly enough. Needed a bit more kick, I think.

On draught at the brewpub in Portland, 5/21/2005 with Muzzlehatch. Creamy honey and butter in the nose, light floral hops, notes of oranges. Amber-golden, clear, small white head recedes quickly to ring, with no lacing. Flavor is diacetyl, pale malt, light caramel and graham crackers, with a orange and pine finish, that is more flavorful than it is bitter. Medium to medium-light body, with moderate carbonation and a weak, watery mouthfeel, that seems too heavy for the relative lack of flavor. Maybe they should throw this in the cask.
