Commercial Description:
Original Pub Style is a light copper-colored medium-bodied with a nice dry bite at the finish. A subtle combination of Cascade and Willamette hops give this ale a fine floral aroma and a slightly fruity aftertaste. The taste captures the freshness of a hand-crafted brew pub ale that goes right from the conditioning tank to your glass!

(Bottle). Grassy aroma. Honey amber color with small white head. Flavor is bitterish, but without much complexity. Drinkable, although not very interesting.

St. Petersburg, fl. - Shep’s Deli - 12 oz bottle. Pour a medium orange with little to no head. Aroma of ripening grapes and lot of yeast. Chewy flavor that has some nutty notes, a bit of caramel and some home brew funkiness. Some orange marmalade makes its way into the back end with some spicy notes as well. Slightly odd. thickish mouthfeel.

The aroma is malty with yeast and grassy hops. The appearance is pale gold with a nice head. The flavor is like the aroma. The palate is thin. Overall a nice session beer.

(Rating #1801)

On draft at the Mellow Mushroom...poured light amber with a reddish tint. The beer had a white head that left some soapy lacing. Aromas of vanilla cream (like a cream ale), flowers, dough. The flavor was actually a little different. There were some mild citrus flavors, followed by some bitterness, and a slight malty sweetness. The palate was light bodied, slightly bitter on the back, nice quick finish. Great session brew!

Bottle - never seen Gritty McDuff’s before, but I was intrigued by the name. However, this was nothing special. Better than a Bud, and I’d probably try some of their other stuff, but don’t think I’d look for this one again.

Gritty’s beers also have a distinct flavor and this pub original is no different. It is a light bodied ale with a slight hint of hops and malts. Tastes much better out of a prope glass. Had in the bottle too and it was not as nice. I enjoyed this as a drinker.
