This is a real nice simple summer ale! Perfect to grab a pint and sit out on the Gritty’s deck and watch the afternoon go by in Freeport. Nice and light for the summer so it can be enjoyed all afternoon and evening.

This is one of my favorite summer ales. I had it on tap and out of a bottle in Maine at the brew Pub. It is very clean and refreshing, It pours yellow. It has a different taste then most summer beers. It does not have the over powering citrus flavor like most but has a nice hop taste with a slight citrus finish. This is a very good beer that would be good for a session

Bottle: Orange-yellow brew with a big cauldron on top. Highly carbonated. Aroma is sweet-bready, lightly citrusy. The drink is even more bready, even vaguely yeasty, with a big cookie dough aspect and a tight finish at the end. I really like beers like this, although clearly they are not popular amongst the Ratebeer masses ... anything vaguely yellowy is at a disadvantage here. (#3203, 11/14/2007)

Had a bottle of this in the dark while camping in Maine, so sadly i couldn't get a good look at the appearance. the taste had a nice hoppyness to it and overall it felt nice and full-bodied in the mouth. Good stuff. i regret the fact that a few years ago i had dinner at Gritty McDuffs in Maine and never tried any of their beers. i'll have to change that.

Pours a deepish golden color, with a fat white head and lots of bubbles floating to the surface. Aroma is mildly hoppy, floral and a touch citric, with a faint whiff of estery maltiness. Flavor is very nice. I didn't know what to expect, and the label somehow reminded me of Elvis, who I hate. Thankfully, the beer is actually really good. Light bodied, hoppy and sharp. Nice and crisp for the summer. Plenty of effervescence, but toned down enough to allow the subtleties of the taste to come through. Balance is good, flavors are pronounced and clean. My idea of a summer beer. Thank God the wheat beer craze seems to be lessened from last year. I like it.

Happy fourth of july. I just had a bunch of these fresh from an ice cold bath and they were delicious - big malt taste, some hops, and light color - I expected a darker appearance from such a full tasting beer. Good stuff - could be the summer beer of ’06

Comes in a 22oz brown bomber..with simple yet effective label. The appearance is quite attractive a nice lazy pale orange with a tiny head that last no time at all Nice aroma of hops mainlly smells fresh despite its long journey. MMM I liked the taste of this beer..a nice pale ale indeed..nice semi-sweet roasted malts followed by an excellent hoppy bitterness that lasts a few seconds very well done. very nice on the palate..i want to sip this pretty quick A good drinkable American style Pale Ale..good for anytime in my opinion

20070713 Bottle. Solid, simple, fresh, fruity, unremarkable quaffer. Slight grainy notes and weedy hop snap.
