thedm (3405), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA Oct 19, 2004 This draft brew from the brewery poured a small sized head of finely sized brown colored bubbles. The body contained no visible carbonation, was opaque and dark ruby red brown in color. Its aroma contained notes of nice Porter dark malt molasses and was just excellent. Its mouth feel is smooth and malty with a nice malt bite in the finish. Its flavor contained smoke molasses and sweet malty notes. It was excellent very tasty. A fantastic beer that I would love to buy again and again and again.
Aggie80 (685), Michigan, USA Aug 16, 2008 Very nice appearance, weak head and a bit of lacing. Strong coffee flavor and bitterness this is a very nice porter! heemer77 (3634), Savannah, Missouri, USA Jun 16, 2008 On tap at the brewpub. The body was black with a thin khaki head. The aroma was chocolate with hints of coffee. There were also some pancake notes. The taste was plums with some cheap coffee. There was also bread crust. Wonderful dark color with a tan head that lasts, coffee/choclate flavor without getting TOO sweet. Nice finish. Pairs wonderfully with a good burger. broger (1), Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA does not count Aug 3, 2007 coffee, roasty, brown, tan foam, medium bitterness, full body, creamy, soft carbonation, astringent, Dogbrick (2209), Columbus, Ohio, USA Apr 17, 2007 Sample at the brewpub: Blackish color with a medium and dense tan head that dissipates slowly. Sheets of lacing coat the glass. The aroma is equal parts malt and coffee. Medium-bodied and smooth with chocolate, coffee and malt flavoring. The finish is roasty but short with a weak showing of hops on the finish. This one started off well and ran out of gas a bit, but still above average overall.
