Grolsch Amber is an extremely clear, quite sparkling amber ale. It looks about 12 SRM. The head is parchment colored, fluffy, has some oily bubbles, has great retention and lacing. There is an aroma of light grain, old feet... funky barnyard, band-aids. It has a light body and a papry, scratchy finish. The flavor is fruity and woody. It’s a bit funky and not very bitter. The aftertaste is a little cave-like. There’s no real sharpness present. Why is beer bottled in a clear glass? It’s a bad idea.

Sep 28, 2008 Pours deep amber into a shaker. Fluffy off-white pancake batter head leaves spotty sheets. Stale caramel aromas. Crisp with deep sweet caramel upfront and a dry malty finish.

Aug 26, 2008 Nutmeg caramel nose, some slight hop spice.Crystal clear amber color with a frothy head. light malty sweetness, considerable bitterness. Well carbonated, thinner body, slightly astringent mouth feel, nice balanced finish. A very easy drinking beer with better than average bitterness for an Amber Ale.
