yesyouam (388), Fairport, New York, USA Feb 12, 2008 Grolsch Amber is an extremely clear, quite sparkling amber ale. It looks about 12 SRM. The head is parchment colored, fluffy, has some oily bubbles, has great retention and lacing. There is an aroma of light grain, old feet... funky barnyard, band-aids. It has a light body and a papry, scratchy finish. The flavor is fruity and woody. It’s a bit funky and not very bitter. The aftertaste is a little cave-like. There’s no real sharpness present. Why is beer bottled in a clear glass? It’s a bad idea.
Rciesla (1136), Brick City, New Jersey, USA Oct 23, 2008 Bottle. Amber body with 2 finger head. Lightly malty with some hop bitterness. Plain and simple a miss in my eyes. thornecb (1228), Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA Sep 28, 2008 Pours deep amber into a shaker. Fluffy off-white pancake batter head leaves spotty sheets. Stale caramel aromas. Crisp with deep sweet caramel upfront and a dry malty finish. AMN (123), Dublin, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 15, 2008 Nice deep amber color and whitish head. Inoffensive taste; probably a little better than reviews would lead you to believe. JuStuka (162), Edo De Mex, Mexico Sep 1, 2008 Amber color, aroma like caramel, friuts and grains, a little bit watery, but refreshing, not bad. VitaminR (303), Colorado, USA Aug 26, 2008 Nutmeg caramel nose, some slight hop spice.Crystal clear amber color with a frothy head. light malty sweetness, considerable bitterness. Well carbonated, thinner body, slightly astringent mouth feel, nice balanced finish. A very easy drinking beer with better than average bitterness for an Amber Ale.
