daknole (480), Plantation, Florida, USA May 8, 2008 Certainly better than the regular. Good malty sweetness but flavor is somewhat flat and no depth. Just ok.
Heathen (420), Riverside, New Jersey, USA Jun 23, 2008 THOUGHTS: Not much to this beer. Nice and malty, but nothing special. It might have been a little better, if not for the slight skunkiness from the clear bottle.
TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a clear, medium amber with an average-sized, off-white head that mostly diminished. The aroma was moderate grain and caramel malts and light to moderate grassy hops. The initial flavor was lightly sweet and light to moderately acidic; while the finish was moderately sweet, sour and light to moderately bitter for a second with a short to average duration. There was caramel malt then a little grassy hops. The light to medium body was sort of watery with fizzy carbonation and a lightly astringent and slightly metallic finish. shendrix (418), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Jun 18, 2008 Well, it’s a bit like a Newcastle with a hoppier finish. The palate is caramel and brown sugar, with the aforementioned hops coming in toward the end. Not bad, but nothing to go out of your way over. Beats the hell out of Grolsch lager though! Dragonblaze99 (246), Greater London, England Jun 14, 2008 Golden colour, good white head. An average crispy lager, but there is nothing to get excited about either. Would go well with spicy food, as it would not distract from the flavours. alafito (322), tijuana, Mexico Jun 10, 2008 Kinda soda pop like. With a semi-real, semi-artificial taste to it. Some caramel and roastiness to it. Refreshing, but nothing much to it i guess. 184601 (93), Mexicali, Mexico Jun 9, 2008 Purchased at Mexican Wal-Mart for 44 pesos a six-pack, not bad but i prefer the green one.Semi-aroma, nice body, average white head, Newcaslte Brown Ale-like flavor, smooth palate, seems and tastes more like a Xmas beer, average.
