Typical pilsenerstyle appearance, but the aroma gives away that it isn’t. Malty and alcoholic. So is the taste. Almost cloyingly sweet and very alcoholic. Metallic aftertaste. Heavy, heavy, heavy.

Lacking in aroma, malt just noticable. Lovely deep gold in colour but head almost nonexistent. Flavour of ..ALCOHOL..and a hint of malt on the finish. Quite disappointing really!

The kanon means it is supposed to pack some power right? Well, it does as the ABV of this is way over the top. This looks like your typical lager/pils but the nose is a first give-away that it is going to be a big beer. The taste backs it up with an overboard hit of alcohol and cloying malt/hop profile. OTT ATW.

A dark yellow beer with a fine white head. The aroma is dominated by alcohol, but also malt is present. The flavor is extremely strong and sweet with lots of alcohol and notes of peaches. Not my type of beer, but for the style I think this is a good interpretation.

It is too strong for me, Much alcohol taste. Later I taste more. I had a bottle from 1998.

Golden colour. Bubbly, lasting head. Whiskey aroma. Taste is dominated by alcohol. This combination of maltiness and high ABv makes it taste like whiskey or some similiar liquor to me. Very sweet, also. It´s drinkable, but doesn´t have the characteristics that I want to taste in a beer.

Orange-gold, slight greenish shine, large, slow bubbles and no head, as an old beer (this sample isn’t!). Quite alcoholic nose, cookies, slightly herbal. Spiced alcoholic taste - a beer with punch, but not without some refinement - a bit liqueur-like. Sweet, roasted taste - like toasted bread; a bit citrus. The herbal, spicey flavour remains, but I cannot pinpoint the taste - maybe lavender or rosemary? Candi sugar is also obvious. Warming up, it turns more licorice-like, unfortunately. Slick, syrupy mouthfeel, but not viscous as, say, EKU 28. Alcoholburn (surpirse!). This is a strange beer - it escapes classical definitions. It has nowhere the "malt liquor" characteristics the American ML’s have - it’s more refined. But difficult to classify - which is not a reproach.

Golden color with a white head. The taste is sweet with a warming alcohol finish.
