Old notes from Holland: Lots of alcohol, warming and unpleasent. Clear and golden colour. Malty too. As so many malt liquors it has too much alcohol.

Alcoholic aroma, no wonder is called malt liquor it has a strong hit of alcohol, golden colour with scarce foam that disappear in couple of seconds, taste is pure alcohol and malts, bitterness is not noticeable, the end is a not so bad, as the sensation of alcohol remains in tongue for a while,

Bottle. Pours clear yellow with an off-white head. Small lacing. Nasty, sweet malty sourish aroma with notes of cereals and marzipan. Cloying. Metallic notes appear as it warms. Flavour is sweet and fruity, with dry alcohol and cereal notes. Same finish, but with slight candy-like notes. A bit of an icky palate. 25-07-08.

For a malt liquor, quite OK, but it’s still crap. I can not recall why people chose this beer to be commercially available instead of one of the 5 other limited edition beers they brewed (e.g. Calixtus or Picardijn). They were all far better than this one.

30 cl bottle, bought in Amstelveen. Clear golden color, ok white head. Aroma is sweet and grainy. Flavor is sweet malty, alcohol and a bitter finish. A sweet beer with lots of alcohol - and that´s it...

Bottle Pours a light amber with a light yellow tinted head. Sweet alcoholic aroma, and slightly bready.Flavor is a very unpleasant malt, with quite a bitter aftertaste. Syrupy, and not enjoyable.

Bottled. Het Amsterdammertje. Pale golden colour with rocky head. Pretty neutral aroma with fruity touch. Very sweet in flavour, with estery, fiery backbone without being too alcoholic.
