rjglory (7), Den Haag, Netherlands does not count Jun 22, 2007 Ahhhh! What a memorable beer. The sweet roots used to make root beer and licorice transform this brew into a fantastic and unique tasting beer that for a short period was on the market. It is definitely the best beer from the Grolsch brewery. It is very sad that it is no longer on the shelves. I looked everywhere I knew to find an old expired bottle. I actually found a couple. But it has been many many months. The many old fashioned brown beers that compete just aren’t good enough. There is really no competitor for this unique and surprisingly refreshing taste. It is history. C’mon Grolsch, brew it again! jerohen (1501), Bussum, Netherlands Apr 12, 2004 Updated: Jul 8, 2004Clear amber coloured, firm head. Malty aroma, like a dortmunder. Malty flavour, very soft, some "zoethout", sweetness. In the aftertaste some anise. First new brew in a long time for Grolsch. Good one! jfm (1639), Holbæk, Denmark Oct 3, 2004 Amber color with a beige head. The taste is sweet and malty with light nutty notes. Has a light sharp alcohol note. jbrus (4306), Delft, Netherlands Oct 25, 2004 Not too bad if you like very sweet beers. But I actually enjoyed it a lot. Nice glass as well. Maybe I liked it because it was 1 month pass it expire date. Sweety, caramel, sugar, fruity, orange, little bit sparkling. Geiserich (1555), Vienna, Austria Sep 3, 2004 Bottled:
Nice sweet caramel aroma. Dark amber color, rocky head. Sweet taste, very malty (cookies) and round, some fruit notes. Aftertaste is only a hint bitter with some acid. Nice full bock for a cold winter day.
