JorisPPattyn (4642), Antwerpen, Belgium Jan 25, 2005 Coca-Cola colour and ditto foam; just a bit more stable. Subdued sweet nose, caramely, vaguely grassy. Quite sweet start, immediately diminishing to more neutral, quite woody taste, not acidic. Flavour of water-colour paint, and milk sugar finish. Bit of tartness, rather dry after the initial sweetness. Knowing Dutch Oud Bruin and Flemish Oud bruin are different is one thing, experiencing it quite another. As far as the Dutch go, this one ranks amongst the better. Among the least sweet, too. Hildigöltur (5056), København Ø, Denmark Mar 18, 2003 Very sweet and malty. This Oud Bruin seems very mild even by Oud Bruin standards. HenrikSoegaard (3291), Randers, Denmark Jan 17, 2008 Bottle. Frothy lightbrown good mostly deminishing head. Dark red-amber wonderfull colour. Modsearte malty very light hoppy aroma. Light sweet flavor. Average finish. Oily but thin palate. Not as sweet as danish "Hvidtøl" but that makes it a very nice beer. jbrus (4306), Delft, Netherlands Nov 2, 2001 Yeast and carbonation aroma. Dark coloured, almost black. Artificial sweetness. Some flowers in the taste. Nasty little bitter aftertaste that stays for a long time. Saarlander (1475), Upland, California, USA Feb 23, 2006 Poured and smelled like a malzbier, then tasted like a malzbier! there was a hint of alcohol, theres the only thing to remind me this isn´t a malzbier. not a bad flavor, but I´d have to be in the mood to drink this one again.
