MoritzF (3926), Ruhrpott, Germany Jul 19, 2007 (33cl bottle, courtesy of bierkoning) Hazy, golden colour with a huge foamy, slightly off-white foamy head. Dusty, moderately sweet malty, slightly grainy and bready aroma with alcohol and peppery spice. Sweet malty, slightly toasted and bready taste with subtle fruity (pineapple) accents, medium to full bodied with a lively, slightly fizzy carbonation. Quite dry, malty and yeasty, slightly spicy finish with warming, well-integrated alcoholic effects.
Tranquillity (1074), Espoo, Finland Aug 30, 2008 Huge white head, uneven. Half-hazy yellow/light-brown body. Honey, grass, hops in the aroma. Taste spicy, harsh but in a good way. A bit disappointing finish. Borresteijn (588), Amstelveen, Netherlands Aug 10, 2008 Bottle. Pale amber/blond colour, big white head. Aroma of malts and hops. Taste is dry, hoppy, fruity and malty. Quite sweet, but also watery considering 8% ABV. I didn’t like it. FatPhil (2367), Espoo, Finland Jul 21, 2008 330ml bottle (Cracked Kettle, Amsterdam)
Pale orange, large bready head. Gentle hoppy aroma. Delicious honey and caramel base to the taste, with a sharp burnt edge, and a huge crisp hoppy bite. Carbonation quite lively, but not harsh. Finish in pleasantly hoppy, but a little soapy. Well balanced, better than average tripel. NoiZe (949), Zeist, Netherlands Apr 13, 2008 Hazy golden/amber colored brew. Spicy aroma. Sweet malty flavor, spicy, herbs, some bitterness. MiP (6029), Flensburg, Germany Feb 27, 2008 Bottle, 8%. Rough aroma, hint of vegetable. Cloudy copper colour. Nice, stable white head. The flavour is tart. Ending with OK, rough bitterness. Very high carbonation, but good mouthfeel. Refreshing with its citricness and quite drinkable in spite of its ABV.
